Spirulina: the world's first superfood. It’s one of the most nutrient-rich foods on Earth, so we had to find a sneaky way to squeeze it into our bars. It’s roughly 70% protein (more than beef, chicken, and soybeans), and so is perfect grab-and-go kind of snack, as all this mighty protein can reduce food cravings, stopping you from munching those cheeky, late-night biscuits. But don’t worry, nibbling on a bit of spirulina choc is just fine ;)

Spirulina grows naturally in the wild in fresh-water lakes, natural springs, and saltwater and is usually put in small tablets or in a powder to add a bit of green magic to your healthy morning smoothie. The fabulous minerals in Spirulina help to inhibit allergic reactions, which means you’ll sniff and sneeze no longer around your best friend’s cat.
The algae’s amino acids actually act as brain chemistry balancers, helping to improve mood, boost memory and promote the feelings of calm and happiness! These guys just couldn’t get enough of the stuff that they wrote a song dedicated to this green beauty!
Spirulina is the reason we exist, without it, we wouldn’t be here today, or yesterday, or, believe or not, the day before that. It is one of the oldest life forms on Earth, responsible for producing the oxygen in the planet’s atmosphere that allowed those weird little life forms to develop billions of years ago. So I think you owe it to this magnificently generous algae to buy a superdelicious bar of D&D.
