Welcome to our Summer Choc Chats, thanks so much for having a chinwag with us.
For all of those who don't know, Georgina is the Editor and creator of the very awesome Pebble Magazine. A magazine that is all about how the hell we can enjoy our lives without harming the planet...and my god is it bloody do-able. It's about thinking differently, challenging the status quo, supporting people and brands who have taken a risk to find a better way of doing something and, of course, zero waste cocktails...
Ready for your questions?
Here we go!
Summer is here and it’s time to get naked…semi naked…bikini/shorts naked. What’s your go to ethical swimwear brand?
This is like trying to choose between children! We've just done a big round up on pebble of ethical swimwear for the summer (see here). I love Deakin & Blue for their flattering one pieces that are great for proper swimming - as is Davy J - both support and flatter and don't make you feel like a granny if you like chocolate more wanting to wear a skimpy bikini.
We try and eat as sustainably as possible but it can be so hard to filter through the gazillions of products on supermarket shelves. What are your top tips for sustainable eating?
It is hard! Especially in big cities with slightly older supermarkets. Online shopping I find helps and I'm a big fan of Farmdrop - which is food fresh from farmers, fishermen and small producers. And Soleshare if you're in London which is a sustainable fish subscription box. Also check out where your nearest zero waste shop is - we've just done a HUGE round up of the best ones (there are a lot more than you think) to bring your packaging consumption down - and you only buy what you need. Much more sustainable.
Favourite place to go and have a bit of R&R in the great outdoors?
I grew up by the sea in Suffolk so I love the east coast, picnics on Southwold common, the pebble beaches, the windswept salt marshes of north Norfolk coast or pack me off to the Scottish highlands and I'm super happy. Especially as there's shortbread after a long day of hiking.
If you were a D&D chocolate bar which one would you be and why?
Oooh now there's a good question. It would have to be the Date & Himalayan salt - I used to live in the Middle East and still dream about the dates over there and there's something so ancient about Himalayan salt, that's always very appealing. Sweet and salty - like all the best things.
What’s your go-to spot for a summer picnic?
Well as lovely as Southwold is, it's generally not very warm. I'd plump for under a big old oak tree in Richmond Park as I live in London.
And that's you done!
