3 ingredient Chocolate Easter Nests
Ingredients
150g Vegan Chocolate (our Maca, Vanilla would work very well here)
2 large shredded wheat biscuits (about 50g)
16 mini eggs for 2 per nest
Recommended Chocolate
Method
These are SO simple, 100% vegan and perfect for Easter baking in lockdown. They are also a great for baking with the kids. If you make these let us know and tag us @doisyanddam.
The recipe makes 8 nests and takes around 45 minutes including fridge time.
1. Break up the shredded wheat in a large bowl- use your hands or a wooden spoon to crush them. They want to be as broken as possible but not dusty. Set aside.
2. Now to melt the chocolate. There's 2 ways to do this EITHER use a microwave on a medium heat and stir every 20-30 seconds. If you don't check it constantly your chocolate will burn. OR put a bit (an inch or so) of boiling water in a pan and find a bowl that sits in the pan comfortably - you do not want the bottom of the bowl to touch the water. Turn on the hob and pop the chocolate in the bowl and let it melt.
3. Pour the melted chocolate over the shredded wheat and stir to combine
4. Spoon the mixture in to 8 cupcake cases and use the back of a spoon to make a little well in the middle, like a nest. Pop 2 mini eggs on each nest and pop in the fridge for 30 mins.
