Christmas Brownies



1 cup plain flour

1 cup cocoa powder

2 cups sugar

4 tbsp ground flax

1 tsp baking powder

0.5 cup water

0.5 cup apple sauce

1 tbsp vanilla extract

1 cup Doisy & Dam Buttons

1 pack Doisy & Dam Ballers


Chocalatey. Chewy. Festive as you like. These vegan peanut butter brownies are so DAM good, they'll have you forgetting what mince pies even look like. Made with vanilla, rich dark chocolate and drizzled with peanut butter, you'll be coming back to this recipe long into 2021. Created by the ever-so-talented @thenourishingmedic Eva.

Takes 1 hour and makes 9 brownies (will power dependent).


  1. Preheat the oven to 180C

  2. Mix ground flax with water and leave to thicken

  3. Whisk applesauce with sugar until well combined. Add flax mix and the vanilla

  4. Sift in the flour and the cocoa powder, and add the baking powder and a dash of salt

  5. Fold in the chocolate buttons

  6. Bake for 30-35 mins, half way through press in the Ballers to the top, and return to oven, then remove from the oven and allow to cool

  7. Drizzle with peanut butter (or any other toppings of choice)

  8. Enjoy!
