SENDING A GREAT BIG THANK YOU
How we're helping and how you can too!
We hope you are all staying safe and healthy. Our hearts go out to all of those suffering and everyone who is working so hard to get us through this as safely as possible, in every walk of life - we're surrounded by heroes!
We believe that chocolate makes everything better…and whilst it might not banish this damned COVID-19 it can certainly bring a bit of joy to your day.
In light of this we are currently running 5 different initiatives to help where we can and we'd love your support!
1. DONATE CHOCOLATE TO OUR NHS
This crisis has highlighted the important of the work that every single person carries out. Perhaps we all should have been more appreciative before, but now is as good a time as ever to help put some much-needed smiles on some well deserving faces. We want to keep the NHS going with a huge THANK YOU in the form of chocolate.
So we've set up a donation page on our website. Please DONATE whatever you can and we'll use the money to send out chocolate to the NHS workforce, at cost price, with no profit to us.
2. 150 FREE CARE PACKAGES
Over 3 weeks we will be giving away 150 letterbox sized care packages of chocolate. 50 packages a week to those most in need of a pick me up, be it NHS workers, those in other public services working around the clock or those lonely and self isolating. These will be nominated by you guys. April 7th is our last week so tune in if you see this in time @doisyanddam
3. CHOCOLATE FOR THE MOST VULNERABLE
The elderly are some of the most vulnerable at this time. Along with the worry that being in a high-risk category must cause they are also isolated from their loved ones at a time when family is most important. We will be working with MACC Care Homes to send 1400 bars of chocolate to staff and residents.
4. FOOD BANK DONATION
Creating meals for the vulnerable out of surplus food, Food Cycle are pretty special. We have donated and will continue to donate shorter shelf life chocolate to help them at a time when surplus food is scarce.
4. Chocolate Package of Joy
We have created a letterbox sized ‘Chocolate Package of Joy’ on our webshop so you can send chocolate to yourself and your loved ones and you won’t even have to open the door!
Our pals over at Cocoa Runners are also donating chocolate to the NHS so check them out too if you want to be doubly generous :-)!
Lastly, we wanted to say a huge thank you to you all for keeping us going and wanted to let you know that it is business as normal here at D&D. We have had more orders than ever through our webshop and it's wonderful to see the support for us and other small business out there. You guys are pretty amazing.
